The Permanent Exhibition

The Mares Lace Museum offers the possibility of knowing nearly all techniques and styles of the lacemaking art, with pieces of outstanding value for its singularity and delicateness.

In the Museum’s ground floor you can see a temporal exhibition about Arenys de Mar history, the lace, the arts crafts or the textile.

At the first floor, the 4th hall shows different techniques in the lace art, a wide selection of handkerchiefs and vestries, and interesting works of embroidery and needlepoint. In the same floor, the 6th hall shows a magnificent collection of black lace. The 7th and 8th halls contain a number of very old pieces: Spanish lace, weaved mesh and religious ceremonial linen from Castile.
